How to improve cluttered UI without redesigning it from scratch
So, let's see what
we are dealing with
What we see here is an over-cluttered spreadsheet with no visual accents, which can make reading the information a real nightmare.
    Well, a good thing might be to erase it all and start from scratch. But what if we have no time, or budget, or capabilities to redesign the whole platform? How about slight and easy to implement improvements, starting from updating typography, implementing a modern design framework like, I don't know, material design, get rid of unnecessary volumes and shadows.
      Here is before/after comparison. Well, the reduction of colors and noise made this thing not only more readable, but also taking up to 20% less space
        What we did
        1. We drastically reduced the number of columns and at the same time we gave the ability to add and remove columns
        2. Each column now has its own filter
        3. You definitely don't need both symbol of currency and abbreviation, so we left only one
        4. Instead of coloring all the rows, which gives you no additional information, we now highlight only negative ones.
        5. We reduced the number of styles and fonts leaving blue as the main highlighting color
        6. And finally we implemented the same logic for the tabs: dashboard - transactions - analitycs
        What else can be done
        For example, we can give a visual summary to a whole picture

        Right now to see the details you need to open a horizontal window, that covers most of the information
        And besides, most of the information here duplicates what we already knew from the spreadsheet
        Instead, we could've opened a sidebar, containing only the information the spreadsheet lacks
